Hive Underwriting has appointed Christine Dandridge as non-executive director, effective immediately.
Dandridge is a veteran of the specialty insurance market, with experience spanning more than four decades. She began her career in 1978 at Stewart Wrightson as a broker, before moving to underwriting by joining the Posgate and Denby Syndicate in 1980 and subsequently becoming one of the first female underwriters at Lloyd’s.
In 1984, Dandridge became one of the founding members of Atrium Underwriting. She served as active underwriter of Syndicate 609 from 1997 to 2007, was part on numerous market committees and was a member of the Council of Lloyd’s from 2004 to 2007.
Since then, Dandridge has held several non-executive directorships and is currently a director of Managing Agency Partners Limited. She holds an advanced diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
“I have enjoyed watching the development of Hive from its inception in 2017,” she said. “The team has built an excellent model and a platform to use as a springboard for growth and I look forward to helping the business develop and expand at this opportune time in the cycle.”
“I am delighted to welcome Christine on to the board of Hive Underwriting,” added Bruce Carman, founder of Hive Underwriting and chief underwriting officer of Hive Aero. “Christine possesses an exceptional knowledge and understanding of the insurance sector and I know will be a huge asset to Hive as we look to build out our multi-class offering.”
