Come September, Hiscox group chief transformation officer and interim UK chief executive Stéphane Flaquet (pictured) is taking on the newly created group chief operating officer position.
“This is a great role and represents a unique opportunity to drive impactful new initiatives and to really help shape the future of what I think is a fantastic business,” said Flaquet, who has been with the Bermuda-headquartered specialist global insurer since 2010.
“I can’t wait to help us enhance our existing capabilities, build new ones, and harness synergies across the group – contributions that I believe will enable us to realise the significant opportunities ahead.”
Prior to his current designation, the incoming group COO served as Europe chief operating officer, group IT director, and Europe CEO. His credentials also include time spent at Paribas, CapitalOne, and AIG.
“As Stéphane takes on this new role for the group, we will benefit enormously from his institutional knowledge, having run a number of Hiscox business areas,” commented group chief executive Aki Hussain.
“With a focus on driving process maturity, continued digital transformation, and service excellence, Stéphane will play an important part in ensuring we continue to build a better business that delivers for our customers.”
Flaquet – who currently leads Hiscox UK in an interim capacity before the arrival of Jon Dye – will be overseeing a number of critical central functions such as group claims, group IT, property services, procurement, and group marketing. His appointment is subject to regulatory consents.
