Tom Davison (pictured above) has joined HF, a legal adviser in the insurance and commercial sectors, as partner and head of property, risks, and coverage.
In his new role, Davison will lead a growing team focused on advising insurers, claimants, and defendants on a wide range of property damage and construction issues.
HF explained that Davison’s addition is part of HF’s ongoing expansion, including in the London Market.
Davison brings extensive experience in advising on coverage, defendant liability, and other liability matters. He has also lectured on law topics, including at the Birmingham Institute of Civil Engineers’ Law & Contracts Management course.
Additionally, he has been a key advisor to the insurance industry on COVID-19 business interruption claims.
Davison expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating that he is joining HF at a time of growth and ambition and looks forward to working within a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Ronan McCann, CEO and managing partner at HF, remarked on Davison's appointment, noting that he adds significant expertise to the firm's team, particularly in complex and specialised areas across the property and construction sectors.
A month ago, the firm announced its acquisition of boutique employment law firm Law By Design, along with two other entities within the By Design group.
Law By Design, an employment law firm in the North West, offers specialised employment services to both private and public sector clients, including the NHS, education institutions, and local authorities.
HF highlighted the acquisition as a milestone to broaden its existing commercial specialisms, allowing clients of both firms access to an expanded range of legal services. The merger is also part of HF’s ongoing investment and innovation strategy.
“The skills, cultures, and client focus of both organisations are perfectly aligned and give us a great opportunity to deepen even further the relationships we have with our clients across the board,” McCann said.
