Following the retirement of Kevin Armstrong, HDI Global SE has promoted from within to appoint a new head of underwriting for UK corporate risk.
Stepping up to the role is Manchester-based Paul Williams (pictured), who previously served as head of UK corporate for North and Scotland. Williams will be in charge of the continuing growth of the corporate risk portfolio out of four regional hubs – Manchester, Birmingham, London, and Glasgow.
Meanwhile HDI highlighted that a broader regional engagement in the South of England will be one area of focus for the promoted executive.
“Paul has been instrumental in the development of our corporate risk portfolio, so he is ideally placed to take this business line forward,” commented Claire McDonald, managing director of HDI’s UK and Ireland operations. “His appointment reflects our long-term commitment to the UK regions.
“I would like to thank Kevin Armstrong for his commitment and contribution to the success of the team since it was established in 2010. We all wish him the best in his retirement.”
