HDI Global has announced the appointment of its new executive team for the UK and Ireland business, under the leadership of newly appointed CEO Stephanie Ogden (pictured above). The appointments, effective from September 2, 2024, follow the company's earlier decision to align its commercial and specialty operations in the region.

Simon Hunt will take up the role of chief finance officer, UK & Ireland, while Gemma McWilliam has been appointed chief people officer, UK & Ireland. Oliver Davies will assume the position of chief distribution officer, UK & Ireland.

Additional appointments include Adam Dewdney as chief actuary, John McCammon as chief compliance officer, and Varan Selvarajah as chief risk officer, all for the UK & Ireland business.

HDI's existing underwriting directors will also join the executive team. These include Adam Curran, director of specialty underwriting; Antonia Osborne, director of commercial underwriting; and Jade Wilcox, director of delegated authority underwriting, all for the UK & Ireland division.

The new executive team brings together employees from both the commercial and specialty units, aiming to integrate best practices from across the organisation. HDI Global is also in the process of recruiting a chief operations officer and a chief claims officer to complete the leadership group.

Ogden commented on the appointments, stating that the UK & Ireland business has experienced strong, profitable growth, which she attributed to the dedication of its employees. She expressed confidence that the new executive team will continue this growth trajectory, while addressing the needs of clients and brokers as a reliable partner during times of industry transformation.

The company, she noted, aspires to become a leader in the UK and Ireland market, offering a broad range of Commercial and Specialty products for long-term client partnerships.

Ogden also acknowledged the contributions of those stepping into new or expanded roles, emphasising the importance of both nurturing existing talent and bringing in new perspectives as HDI Global moves forward.
