November will see the arrival of HB Underwriting managing director Kyle Lomas (pictured), who is moving from Victor Insurance UK where he is head of agricultural underwriting.
Reporting to HB Underwriting chief executive Sean McClarron, Lomas will be in charge of heading up the managing general agent’s operations, creating new offerings for a variety of sectors, and developing the sales and distribution strategy as well as insurer relationships.
“The MGA model allows for flair and creativity, so joining HB Underwriting creates a massive opportunity for me to bring new products to the market with agility and speed,” commented the incoming MD, whose experience includes time spent at NIG FarmWeb. “I am very excited to be leading the team and developing it into becoming a major player in the MGA space.
“We’ll be working very quickly to add new products to the existing suite, underpinning all that we do with a strengthened distribution capability and strategy; harnessing rapport, confidence, and trust in the niche areas that we choose to operate in.”
Meanwhile McClarron offered insights into the move.
The CEO stated: “At HB Underwriting, we want to continue to build and offer unique products to the broker market that offer something truly different for the end-client. We also want to ensure we maintain our pragmatic approach to underwriting and claims, helping brokers to assist their clients, and write more business in the process.”
