Marsh McLennan’s reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has appointed former SCOR chief executive Laurent Rousseau (pictured) as CEO of EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) and Global Capital Solutions.
Effective September 4, the appointment will see Rousseau assume executive oversight of Guy Carpenter’s businesses in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, as well as GC Securities and Global Risk Solutions. The newly created position is based in London.
“We are excited to have Laurent join our team,” Dean Klisura, Guy Carpenter president and CEO, said in an emailed release. “He is a seasoned professional and is widely recognised for his (re)insurance expertise.
“Laurent’s impressive leadership experience and strong track record in driving growth will be a great asset as we continue to help our clients meet their unique needs and execute our growth strategy.”
Rousseau, a JP Morgan alumnus, spent about 13 years at SCOR prior to his resignation. He was succeeded as chief executive by Thierry Léger, who was previously group chief underwriting officer at Swiss Re.
