The UK insurance brokerage space just got that little bit more competitive thanks to the launch of a brand new brokerage.
Oxfordshire broker George Kay, previously of Matthews Comfort & Co., has established his own business known as GPK Insurance Services with the backing of Leeds-based Gauntlet Enterprise. GPK will provide commercial insurance policies and some personal lines throughout the Oxfordshire area.
For Kay, setting up the brokerage marks the completion of a four-year dream. He now plans to work with his father in a family enterprise and tipped his hat to Gauntlet’s network credentials in helping him get off the ground.
“By working with Gauntlet, I can overcome the hurdles that independent brokers often face and offer my clients the best of both worlds – the personal, face-to-face service that comes from a local broker and excellent premiums and insurance options that are available to a broker of Gauntlet’s size and reputation,” he explained.
Paul Coates, director of Enterprise at Gauntlet, added that he is “confident” Kay’s business will be “extremely successful.”
