Private client broker Gauntlet Insurance Services is now part of Global Risk Partners (GRP).
Without disclosing financial terms of the transaction, GRP said its acquisition of the London-based firm has received regulatory approval. The snapped up business – which shouldn’t be confused with Leeds-headquartered Gauntlet Group – specialises in insurance for assets valued in excess of £8 billion.
As part of the deal, the entire workforce of Gauntlet Insurance Services will stay, along with directors Harry Fitzalan-Howard, Steve Buckingham, and Simon Aitken. Meanwhile Fitzalan-Howard and Buckingham will become chairman and managing director, respectively.
“In GRP we have found the ideal partner to continue our development and to further enhance our service proposition,” noted Fitzalan-Howard. “I am excited about the future opportunities for Gauntlet as part of GRP.”
Under the overall leadership of group managing director Mike Bruce, Gauntlet Insurance Services will retain its standalone status within the retail division of GRP.
“We are delighted to have acquired such a prestigious business with a high-quality management team and an excellent reputation in the market,” commented Bruce.
“I warmly welcome Harry, Steve, Simon, and the rest of the Gauntlet team to the GRP family, where we look forward to supporting their exciting plans for further development.”
