It looks like the 57-year partnership between Gallagher broker George Burrows and the Metropolitan Police Federation is stronger than ever, with the two camps forging a new exclusive multi-year deal.
The Metropolitan Police Federation, which represents around 30,000 officers, has again tapped the police insurance specialist to provide coverage to both serving and retired officers as well as their partners. George Burrows was picked following what was described as a competitive tender.
“We are pleased to continue to work alongside George Burrows in providing a great insurance product for our members,” noted Paul Deller, general secretary at the Metropolitan Police Federation. “This was a complex process as we added additional requirements to the package this time around, but George Burrows rose to the occasion.”
Features of the bespoke and extensive scheme include life insurance without exclusions as well as personal accident, sick pay, and legal expenses benefits.
Commenting on the renewed alliance, George Burrows managing director Rob Constable stated: “With our partnership spanning more than 50 years, George Burrows has built a very close relationship with the Metropolitan Police Federation and we never stop looking for ways to improve and enhance our range of personal insurance covers and service to its members.
“We are extremely proud to be reappointed as their insurance provider.”
Constable also highlighted how Met officers constantly face new threats in what he called an increasingly complex and interconnected world, adding that the George Burrows team is honoured to be able to offer the reassurance of quality insurance protection that takes these myriad of risks into account.
