Specialist renewable energy insurer GCube Underwriting Ltd. (GCube) has added Steve Allen and Adam Hearn to its senior team in London as part of its ongoing expansion. They have been appointed as director and senior underwriter, respectively.
Prior to joining GCube, Allen served as engineering, construction, and renewable energy director at
RSA Group. At GCube, he will be responsible for expanding the underwriting platform across new classes as well as defining the global growth strategy for new territories.
Hearn, also from RSA, brings with him more than two decades of underwriting experience in the sectors of power and engineering. He was responsible for underwriting renewable energy assets in emerging markets including South Africa, the Middle East, and Australasia. His focus at GCube will be on solar and wind energy in the emerging markets.
“Having worked on a significant portfolio of renewable energy assets in markets around the globe, Adam and Steve will be a great fit for us, and their expertise will be an invaluable asset to GCube going forwards,” said GCube chief executive Fraser McLachlan.
Allen, who is delighted to be joining GCube, said the firm has established itself as the market leader in underwriting renewable energy projects worldwide. Hearn, on the other hand, is looking forward to working as part of a specialist renewable energy underwriting team.
GCube has also recently made further hires at its offices in the United States. Globally, the insurer’s portfolio encompasses more than 85GW of renewable energy assets.
