GCube Underwriting has promoted Josh Shimali (pictured above) to head of onshore underwriting, while Olly Litterick has been recruited as head of London market underwriting.
GCube is the renewables energy specialist arm of the Tokio Marine HCC group. According to the company, it has been investing heavily in its people over the past two years, helping it enter new markets and solidify its position as a leading global renewable energy underwriter. These latest appointments, coupled with recent hires across its claims and underwriting teams, will maintain GCube’s strong leadership and firmly position it to capture new growth in the renewable energy market.
Shimali has been with Gcube for over a decade, joining as an underwriting assistant in 2012. As head of onshore underwriting, he will be responsible for planning and executing GCube’s overall underwriting strategy and ensure the company sustains its successful period of profitability through new and existing business.
Litterick (pictured directly above) joined GCube from Occam Underwriting, where he was most recently director and head of low carbon energy. He has 15 years of underwriting and broking experience, having worked as divisional director at RKH Speciality and renewable energy underwriter at Chaucer Syndicates.
“Through investing in and hiring the best people in the industry we’ve established ourselves as a leading renewables underwriter, which prides itself on the extensive knowledge, experience, and integrity we bring to the market,” said Fraser McLachlan, CEO of GCube. “Our two latest appointments will contribute to defining and building upon our strong underwriting strategy and help generate and sustain our profitable business model in current and future markets. We’re extremely excited to welcome Olly to the organisation and that Josh has elected to accept this new senior role within the business.”
