Gallagher has appointed Giles Hambly as a producer under the company’s major risks practice.
In his new role, Hambly will focus on supporting clients in relation to tax-related insurance solutions.
He joins the major risks practice of Gallagher, specifically the M&A team, which advises on tax, warranty & indemnity (W&I), contingency & litigation risks and insurance due diligence, to corporate, private equity, and M&A advisor clients. Hambly will report to Gallagher head of W&I and tax Mark Ettershank.
Hambly originally trained at EY Sydney’s international tax services division, and then later joined KPMG as an assistant manager. He most recently served as an associate at London-based law firm Norton Rose Fullbright. In addition to his work experience, Hambly is also an admitted solicitor of The Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia, and holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.
“Myself and George Minoprio, who co-heads the M&A team, are delighted to have Giles on board, who brings a range of skills and experience to further reinforce our expertise in W&I and tax insurance, where we have been delivering in this space for over 20 years,” said Gallagher major risks practice managing director Alan Pratten.
“Joining Gallagher’s established and professional team of M&A specialists is a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to helping support our clients with specialist tax insurance solutions,” commented Hambly.
Hambly added that thanks to his experience as a lawyer for two of the “big four” accountancy firms, he has strong insight into the challenges that businesses face when undergoing M&A transactions.
