Insurance broker Gallagher has officially launched its multi-year strategic business and marketing partnership with Premiership Rugby in the UK, taking over from Aviva.
With Gallagher becoming the official title sponsor of Premiership Rugby, starting this 2018-19 season, the competition will be renamed “Gallagher Premiership Rugby” when it kicks off on August 31.
The deal includes naming rights, branding opportunities, and local community programs.
Gallagher Premiership Rugby will open the season with newly-promoted Bristol Bears hosting local rivals Bath, and will see 12 rugby union teams in England compete against each other over 22 rounds, leading to two rounds of playoff action to decide the champion.
“Gallagher is no stranger to the sport of rugby having been a supporter of club rugby at both a community and professional level for the last decade,” said Pat Gallagher, chairman, president, and CEO of Gallagher. “We’re now taking that association to another level. I’m immensely proud to have Gallagher begin this new partnership.”
