Brokerage giant Gallagher has bolstered its ranks with a double swoop for its major risks practice.
Firstly, the firm has brought in Ian Coleman, who will work as both an originator and technical director, focusing on policy wordings. He has been a qualified solicitor since 1992, holding senior underwriter roles at After the Event litigation insurers since 2006.
Also joining is James Bailey, another qualified solicitor, who takes the role of technical director. He boasts a host of specialist expertise relating to policy wordings and legal issues surrounding the Insurance Act 2015.
As a result of the changes, Gallagher now has a team of more than 50 professionals in its major risks practice.
“When we set out to form our specialist litigation team seven years ago, we wanted ethical and talented professionals who had a passion for client delivery,” said major risks practice managing director Alan Pratten. “The need for insurances such as opponents cost legal expenses, arbitration default insurance, judgement preservation insurance and tax insurance continues to grow. I’m confident our team has unbeatable knowledge and scale to help clients manage these risks and Ian and James will add further expertise to our already strong specialist capabilities.”
