Gallagher has entered into a new partnership with Motorsport UK to become the official partner of two of the organisation’s initiatives – the Girls on Track UK programme and Motorsport UK Academy.
The two-year partnership will see Gallagher support Motorsport UK to inspire girls to consider a role within the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Gallagher will be involved in future events and will also host dedicated workshops, which will promote motorsport amongst young females.
Gallagher will also support the governing body’s efforts through its academy to encourage young drivers to develop and pursue a career within motorsports. The brokerage will provide athletes with insurance advice at programme gatherings, and will serve as the title sponsor of the Team UK Driver of the Year award; Gallagher’s branding will also be featured on the new Team UK clothing.
“We are delighted to welcome Gallagher as a partner to Motorsport UK,” said Motorsport UK CEO Hugh Chambers. “As an organisation, we want to inspire and encourage more women into our sport, and build upon the rapid growth of our Girls on Track UK initiative – engaging even more participants, and showcasing STEM-related opportunities in motorsport. We are also focused on the development of drivers in our Academy programme, as we look to nurture future talent who can go on to represent the UK at the highest level.”
“We are delighted to be joining forces with Motorsport UK on its academy and Girls on Track initiatives,” added Gallagher head of sports practice Karen Ellis. “The motorsport team in Gallagher has worked in the sector for many years, and we are passionate about supporting these kinds of initiatives which help promote accessibility and the partnership fits very well into our strategy for supporting young upcoming sporting talent.”
