Former Marsh exec joins Starr Insurance Companies in London

Come June 03 Starr Insurance Companies will have a new head of financial institutions for the UK and Europe.

Based in London, Andrew Hopper will be in charge of the strategy and profitable growth of the financial institutions division. He previously served as senior client executive within Marsh’s financial and professional practice.

“Andrew brings more than 17 years of financial industry insurance experience on both the broker and carrier sides of the business,” noted Liz Ilott, chief underwriting officer for financial lines at Starr Underwriting Agents Ltd (SUAL).

“He’s developed smart risk management solutions for large financial institutions throughout his career, including banks, asset managers, and life insurance companies, with a solid track record of driving revenue growth for his employers.”

Ilott said Hopper’s leadership will help the firm develop new channels and strengthen its client and partner relationships.
