Law firms DWF and Browne Jacobson have been reappointed to the legal panel of the Insurance London Consortium (ILC) for a five-year term starting July 01.
Formed via a tender process, the panel delivers legal services to the London boroughs of Croydon, Haringey, Harrow, Islington, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, and the Royal borough of Kingston upon Thames. Covered litigated insurance claims include public liability, employers’ liability, officials’ indemnity, industrial disease, human rights, motor, and property.
“We are absolutely delighted to be reappointed to the ILC panel, which is an excellent example of how local authorities can work collaboratively to procure high-quality legal services while driving efficiency,” commented Browne Jacobson’s insurance sector partner James Fawcett.
He noted: “The consortium has a number of risk management initiatives in the pipeline, and we look forward to helping the consortium deliver those initiatives to improve the members’ risk profiles.”
Fawcett is part of the local authority litigation team at Browne Jacobson.
Meanwhile DWF partner and head of casualty and occupational health Mark Whittaker (pictured), who works alongside London-based insurance director John Palmer, said: “We are proud and pleased to have been reappointed to the Insurance London Consortium panel for another five years.
“Our team here has deep insurance litigation expertise, and our public sector insurance team, which has been carrying out work for local authorities for over 50 years, is one of the largest in the UK.”
The procurement was led by the London borough of Croydon.
