Affinity insurance provider Hood Group has recruited the former chief executive of a leading global claims management firm.
The company recently announced that it has appointed Mark Hunter as its new finance director following the retirement of Bob Gildie.
Chief executive Simon Hood described Hunter as an “experienced financial and operational professional with a track record of delivering growth in both private and public companies.”
“His knowledge and expertise of guiding a business forward to achieve its growth ambitions will be of huge assistance as Hood Group takes the next steps delivering on in its strategy,” Hood said.
Commenting on his new role, Hunter said that it is a “tremendously exciting time” to join Hood Group.
“Following the new financial arrangement agreed with Clydesdale Bank earlier this year, we have a strong platform in place from which to continue with our growth plans,” Hunter said.
“I’m looking forward to working with Simon and the senior leadership team to deliver on our business development strategy and achieve our goals,” he added.
Hunter comes from professional services provider Charles Taylor Adjusting, where he held the role of corporate development director for two years.
He is better known for spending almost 30 years at leading aviation claims management firm Airclaims Group, where he served as CEO from 2006 to 2013.
Hunter also held other top roles at Airclaims, including COO, finance director and group accountant.
