Global insurer XL Catlin has hired long-time
AIG senior executive Philippe Gouraud as head of strategic client and broker management for its insurance segment.
Gouraud takes up new role from April 15, and will be reporting to Kelly Lyles, chief regional officer for insurance at XL Catlin.
“His mandate includes making sure that our clients can benefit from the full breadth of our Global Programs and Captives service capabilities, leveraging our owned and partner network,” said Lyles.
“Working closely with those teams, he will help to further build out our offering and best in class service.”
Lyles said having a close dialogue with clients and brokers is the key to an insurer’s ability to respond to evolving risk management needs.
“In this newly created strategic role, we expect Philippe to effectively align our broad underwriting and service capabilities to current and future market demands,” she said.
Before joining XL Catlin, Gouraud spent 15 years at AIG, where he most recently served as head of client management group for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. At the global carrier, he also worked as senior vice president for risk finance and head of major accounts and global risk solutions for the UK.
Gouraud also worked at Elf Aquitaine Group as head of risk financing and as risk manager. His responsibilities included the management and placement of insurance programmes, underwriting and management of reinsurance captives based in Bermuda and Luxembourg, and insurance programmes of the North American chemical division.
