Everest has announced its entry into the Italian insurance market, following regulatory approval to operate under the name Everest Insurance (Ireland) DAC, Succursale Italiana. The company has established its headquarters in Milan.

The Italian operations are overseen by José Ramón Morales, head of Southern Europe for Everest Insurance International®. Véronique Brionne, senior vice president and head of Europe, Everest Insurance International®, highlighted in a company statement the importance of the expansion in its business strategy.

“Italy is among Europe’s largest economies, and a key market as we continue to scale throughout the continent,” said Brionne. “We are bringing Everest’s value proposition, including dedicated local expertise, tailored risk solutions, and best-in-class service, to meet the evolving needs of businesses in the region.”

A news release highlighted that Everest’s operations in Italy will offer a range of insurance solutions across property, casualty, financial lines, energy and construction, accident and health, cyber, marine, and aviation sectors. The company aims to address global risk challenges while catering to local market needs.

This latest move builds on Everest’s recent expansions into Australia, Colombia, and Mexico. Adam Clifford, co-lead of Everest Insurance International®, emphasised the value of local expertise combined with global resources.

“As we deepen our European presence, Everest’s strength as a global powerhouse, combined with our localised expertise, best positions us to fill certain gaps that exist in the Italian market for bespoke solutions and enduring partnerships,” Clifford said. “I look forward to working with our exceptional local team to meet the distinct needs of Italian brokers and clients.”
