EDII, an innovation, education, and development company for regulated markets, has appointed Helene Stanway (pictured) as non-executive director.
Stanway brings to the board more than 25 years of experience in the market covering reinsurance, underwriting, and data operations, as well as market innovation and emerging innovations. She was most recently market engagement and adoption lead for data at Lloyd’s of London.
Stanway has also held a number of senior roles in technology and innovation. Between 2016 and 2020, she served in senior positions at AXA XL, including vice president of global head of technology innovation and co-founder of Cube, the world’s first risk innovation incubator. Prior to that, she worked at XL Catlin as chief of staff to the chief operations officer and global head of operations for specialty.
“I am delighted to join EDII as a non-executive director,” said Ms Stanway. “I have supported EDII’s work since its inception, and I hope that my market perspective and knowledge of digital techniques and capabilities will help them grow even further… My aim will be to support the EDII team as it evolves into a technologically-advanced frontrunner in the sector, as well as developing methods that will advance the innovation capabilities of the market as a whole.”
EDII chief executive Caroline Bedford welcomed Stanway to the board.
“Having someone of Helene’s calibre and expertise on the board is a major step for EDII in our continued growth and development,” she said. “With innovation and technology such an integral part of the industry’s existing hybrid work environment, Helene’s deep insight and delivery experience will be an invaluable asset to EDII’s future expansion.”
