Ecclesiastical Insurance has retained its position at the top of the Fairer Finance Home Insurance league table for the 20th consecutive time.
The company remains the most trusted home insurance provider in the UK, according to the independent consumer group.
The specialist insurer ranked first out of 47 providers, including Bank of Scotland, TSB, NFU Mutual, Nationwide, and Lloyds Bank, maintaining its Gold Ribbon status for another year.
Saga, another insurance provider, also received a Gold Ribbon, placing eighth in overall scores. Direct Line received a Silver Ribbon, sitting at 13th, while AA and Co-operative Insurance received Bronze Ribbons at 15th and 16th, respectively.
Fairer Finance surveys approximately 20,000 UK customers annually, asking them to rate their satisfaction with their bank or insurer. The rankings are based on customer feedback regarding happiness and trust, combined with data from the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) on complaints handling and an evaluation of transparency through mystery shopping and policy document reviews.
Ecclesiastical scored 82% for overall customer experience, securing the top spot once again. The insurer ranked highest in both trust and customer happiness.
Mark Hews (pictured above), group chief executive of Benefact Group, the parent company of Ecclesiastical, commented on the achievement, stating that the company is proud to remain the most trusted insurer in the rankings.
“To have this confirmed for a 20th consecutive time is a real achievement,” he said. “We’re owned by a charity and all of our available profits go to good causes. That sets us apart from the competition – and the more the group grows the more the group can give to charity. We know that resonates with our customers, and that charitable purpose feels even more relevant in these difficult times - spurring us on to grow the business further.”
Fairer Finance managing director James Daley also remarked that Ecclesiastical’s 20-time achievement is unprecedented in the home insurance market.
“To do well in our rankings, you need to have happy customers, as well as a good track record on complaints and transparency. Ecclesiastical has consistently performed well in all these areas. It’s an impressive track record. Congratulations Ecclesiastical on an outstanding achievement,” Daley said.
