Direct Line Group has announced the addition of three senior executives to its executive committee.
The company has appointed Maz Bown as group chief risk officer, Angela Yotov as group general counsel, and Jane Storm as chief people officer.
Bown joined the group in December 2024, while Yotov and Storm will assume their roles in February 2025.
Bown arrives from Aviva, where she served as chief risk officer for UK general insurance & health. With over 21 years of experience, her new role focuses on strengthening the company’s risk management and controls.
Angela Yotov, previously group general counsel at Close Brothers Group plc, brings over two decades of expertise in financial services, advising investment banks and fintech firms in regulated markets.
Meanwhile, Jane Storm, who most recently held the position of group people director at easyJet, also served as chief people officer at Saga plc. Her background includes senior HR roles at Tesco plc, equipping her to lead human resources and guide the company through organisational change.
Yotov succeeds Humphrey Tomlinson, and Storm steps into the position held by Vicky Wallis, both of whom are retiring from Direct Line Group.

The appointments follow changes made in May 2024, when Direct Line Group expanded its executive team with new leaders in key roles to oversee insurance strategies, claims operations, and corporate affairs. The earlier appointments were part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the company’s operational efficiency and leadership capacity.
