Davies is determined to strengthen its global leadership team this year despite the COVID-19 pandemic – and the appointment of Dr Nneka Abulokwe as the new non-executive director of its board is proof of that commitment.
Abulokwe is an award-winning technology, innovation, and governance expert who has taken up senior roles in major multinational technology organisations such as Sopra Steria, Atos, and CGI. She also serves as a non-executive director at the University of Cambridge and runs a strategic advisory firm, MicroMax Consulting.
Aside from being a renowned public speaker on technology and digital transformation, Abulokwe’s skills have also been recognised through multiple awards – including the Financial Times Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic (BAME) Top 100 Tech and Top 100 Business Executives, as well as the 2019 & 2020 Powerlist 100 most influential black business leaders.
She was also a finalist for the Governance Professional of the Year 2018 Award by the Governance Institute UK and honoured by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to business.
Davies group chief executive officer Dan Saulter said he was thrilled to welcome Abulokwe to the company’s board of directors, adding: “Our people are why we are successful. It is vital that we continue to attract and retain the very best talent right across the organisation. While we are proud of our track record of promoting and retaining the best people, we must go further to ensure we fully embrace diversity and foster an inclusive workplace where all can thrive. I am looking forward to being able to draw on Nneka’s experience and expertise in this area.”
