Litigation and dispute resolution lawyer Liam O’Connell (pictured) is making the switch from Norton Rose Fulbright – where he was head of the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) insurance claims team – to DAC Beachcroft.
The latter said O’Connell is “set to join the firm shortly” after being appointed to lead its global insurance practice in London. DAC Beachcroft described the key recruit as among the most respected practitioners in the London insurance market.
“Liam has one of the foremost reputations in the London insurance market and we are thrilled to welcome him to the partnership,” commented DAC Beachcroft managing partner David Pollitt.
“His outstanding track record in building an international business, combined with his exceptional connections across the London and international insurance market, makes him a perfect fit for the firm, as we continue to strengthen our market-leading global offering.”
Acting for many leading global and London market insurers, O’Connell has advised on high-value complex coverage analysis for the market across the professional indemnity, financial institutions, contingency, media tech, cyber, terrorism, property, and warranty and indemnity business classes.
“Liam joins at a really exciting time for our business,” added Helen Faulkner, global head of insurance at DAC Beachcroft.
“We are continuing to build a strong collaborative team across insurance responding to our clients’ needs and based on a strong financial platform and performance. Liam will play a leading role in spearheading further growth across key lines of our international insurance practice.”
