Gallagher has appointed Lisa Bartlett (pictured) as managing director of its Birmingham office, one of the company’s biggest regional hubs in the UK. Bartlett, who left Crawford & Company at the end of July, will oversee a roster of more than 150 risk professionals.

The key hire brings more than 25 years of industry experience, having held senior positions at the likes of AXA, WTW, and Aon. Most recently, she served as chief operating officer for international operations at Crawford, where she was also UK & Ireland president.

Bartlett previously led a team of 1,500 and played a key role in driving business growth, improving operational efficiencies, and introducing new market propositions.

At Gallagher, Bartlett’s primary focus will be expanding the Birmingham unit to meet increasing client demands. She will report to Midlands regional managing director Elaine Lennox.

Peter Matthews, Gallagher’s managing director of the North, noted: “Lisa is a fantastic addition to the team, and I am delighted that she will now be leading Gallagher’s Birmingham office. She has a proven track record for driving growth, increasing client satisfaction, and nurturing and developing talent.

“Our Birmingham team is situated in the city’s thriving Colmore business district, which reflects our ongoing investment in the area. This has put Gallagher in a strong position to recruit locally and to go even further with our support of businesses so that they are well equipped to navigate challenges and grow.”

Meanwhile Bartlett highlighted that the brokerage’s investment in its extensive UK-wide office network indicates a “real commitment” to clients.

“Being based alongside our regional client base gives us insight and understanding of the opportunities and challenges these firms face and how we can help support them,” she said.

“As well as the regional teams, I am looking forward to working with our specialist teams in industries such as charities, real estate, and manufacturing where I see real opportunity to grow our products and services.”

Across the UK and Ireland, Gallagher employs more than 7,000 people.
