Covéa Insurance has partnered with seven local employers in the West Yorkshire borough of Calderdale to launch a two-year community-based leadership programme.
The insurer established the leadership programme in partnership with the West Yorkshire Police, Calderdale College, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, Together Housing, Halifax Opportunities Trust, and the Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation.
The two-year programme will be managed by Calderdale College and features a range of masterclasses and seminars – including keynote speakers from different industry sectors – that tap into the resources of partnering businesses. What’s more, the programme provides participants with the opportunity to work towards an accredited leadership and management qualification.
On completion, the insurer said that participants will emerge equipped to thrive in leadership roles that will support the prosperity and success of the wider Calderdale region.
“This is a ground-breaking initiative and we’re delighted to be involved,” said Matthew Metcalfe, senior manager for talent & acquisition at Covéa Insurance. “Community-based learning programmes offer great potential to equip our people with the skills they need to become highly effective leaders, benefiting our business and the community as a whole.”
