Consilium has reported it achieved gross written premiums of £700 million, representing 54% year-on-year growth, for the year ending June 2024.
Reporting a compound growth rate of 36% for the past five years, the company said it is targeting £800 million by the end of this calendar year and £1.1 billion GWP by the end of 2026.
On a year-on-year basis, the company also reported 176% growth of its professional & executive risks division; a 32% increase in international business, and 52% growth in its delegated risk solutions division.
Headcount for the last 12 months also surged to 154%, or a total of more than 100 staff, the company said.
“It has been another busy year,” said Paul Richards, co-chief executive of Consilium. “We have achieved so much in a short space of time which is testament to the Consilium staff who have been so engaged in the design and development of our future proof solutions.”
Throughout the year, the company successfully launched four new specialty divisions, namely, property, casualty, energy and cargo, where Daniel Leveridge was recently appointed as partner and head of technical.
The company also expanded its reach into the US, Canada, Australia and South Africa. It has also secured licenses and opened offices in the Cayman Islands and Channel Islands. In August, the company appointed Basil Montieth as senior partner for its Cayman office.
The company also launched Fundshield earlier this year, an online quote and bind facility, which will serve the insurance needs of directors appointed to investment fund entities. Aside from that, it also established a marine division and a credit and political risk portfolio.
Meanwhile, Aventum said it designed an entire proprietary technology suite which it is currently developing for Consilium, alongside an operational excellence program.
“All Aventum employees have been awarded share options which aligns us all with growing our business and ensuring that clients are a constant priority at the forefront of everything we do,” said James Baird, joint CEO of Consilium.
Looking ahead, Richards added: “Specialty products, global distribution and a relentless focus on service remain the cornerstones of our strategy so expect to see more this financial year.”
Consilium, an entrepreneurial independent broker, is a subsidiary of Aventum.
