Victims of last week’s terror attack at Parsons Green tube station do not need representation to apply for compensation.
Those who were injured as a result of the bombing may submit their online applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). A major incident team has been set up to receive applications, and the executive agency may also be reached at 0300 003 3601.
Applications will be considered under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme 2012. If an application is turned down, victims can appeal to the criminal injuries compensation tribunal.
The CICA stressed that victims do not need a paid representative, such as a solicitor or claims management company, to apply. Support in applying to the scheme may be requested through the local police and crime commissioner.
The Ministry of Justice-sponsored agency handles compensation claims from those physically or mentally injured because “they were the blameless victim of a violent crime.”
Meanwhile, the police have appealed to those with photos or videos related to the incident to submit them at https://ukpoliceimageappeal.co.uk/upload/choose.
