The Hartford’s international chief claims officer Michael Phipps (pictured) is making the switch to CNA Hardy.
Slated to come onboard the specialist commercial insurance provider towards the end of the first quarter, Phipps will be based in London in his new capacity as vice president and head of claims for the UK and Continental Europe.
The Navigators and Chubb alumnus will report to both EVP Dan Franzetti, who is worldwide claims head, and CNA Hardy president and chief executive Jalil Ur Rehman.
Commenting on the appointment, Franzetti stated: “I am thrilled to welcome Mike to our global claims team. He has an outstanding reputation in the international claims market and is an excellent addition to our team.”
Meanwhile Rehman cited the key hire’s “stellar” background. The CEO said Phipps will bring not only strong leadership in operational and technical claims but also considerable multi-jurisdictional knowledge from his experience in the insurance markets in the UK, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
