In response to segment growth, as well as feedback from key broker partners,
Chubb has expanded its existing real estate offering – launching a real estate industry practice for the UK and Ireland (UK&I).
The new practice falls under the responsibility of UK&I industry practices head Karen Strong, while the underwriting team will be led by newly appointed real estate practice underwriting manager Daniel Atkinson. The proposition comprises specialist real estate underwriters, dedicated account engineers, and real estate claims specialists.
Atkinson, who has 15 years of underwriting and real estate experience, joined Chubb in 2014 as a senior property underwriter. Effective immediately, he will also be in charge of driving the financial performance of the industry sector.
“The launch of our new real estate industry practice demonstrates our commitment to further develop this key area of our business and to ensure that we build upon our offering,” said Sara Mitchell, head of corporate division, UK&I, Chubb. “During 2018 we will be looking to expand the team further and to build additional capability to support our growth in this market.”
Other industry practices include technology, life science, and entertainment.
The largest publicly traded property and casualty insurer, Chubb operates in 54 countries and maintains executive offices in the likes of New York and London.
