Major insurer Chubb has given new roles to two senior underwriters to strengthen its cyber risk team serving wholesale clients in London and retail customers in the UK and Ireland.
The company has named Lauren Webb as cyber underwriting manager for the London market. She will be responsible for underwriting the US, UK and international risks placed through Lloyd’s and company market brokers.
Webb will still be based in London, reporting to Grant Cairns, financial lines manager for Chubb in the UK and Ireland, and Trevor Ormes, financial lines product head, Chubb global markets.
A seasoned insurance professional with 11 years of industry experience, Webb joined Chubb in 2012 to develop the portfolio of professional indemnity and cyber placements, particularly in the London market. She most recently served as a senior underwriter.
“The cyber insurance market is rapidly evolving and London’s role as an international centre of excellence is growing,” said Matthew Shaw, Chubb executive vice president, Europe.
“With Lauren’s appointment and the creation of a dedicated London market underwriting role, we look forward to further building our London cyber market presence and assisting our broker partners to provide tailored and comprehensive solutions for their international clients.”
Chubb has also appointed Chris McMurray as senior cyber underwriter for the UK and Ireland. He will be in charge of the underwriting and growth of the insurer’s regional cyber portfolio outside London.
McMurray will be based in Glasgow, reporting to Tim Jones, professional indemnity and cyber manager for Chubb in the UK and Ireland.
He previously served as Chubb’s senior financial lines underwriter for Scotland and helped develop the regional cyber portfolio in the UK and Ireland.
