It’s the turn of personal lines insurance professionals to get a boost.
To ensure everyone working in personal lines can develop their knowledge and career, the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has introduced formal qualifications as well as informal e-learning materials for motor, home, pet, and travel insurance executives. The CII cited demand from personal lines employers for training resources.
“The CII now has something for everyone working in personal lines insurance – from simple animations and short online courses for those just starting out, to professionally recognised qualifications,” said CII chief executive Sian Fisher.
“These courses have been built by market practitioners to enable insurers and brokers to fill the knowledge gaps and empower staff to deliver expert guidance and support to customers.”
Topics covered include regulatory requirements when it comes to treating customers fairly and handling vulnerable customers.
“Personal lines is effectively the shop window for the insurance profession,” commented Rhys Courtney, head of learning and development at insurance broker Brightside Group Ltd.
“The CII’s new training material and qualifications will help increase the knowledge of individuals working in personal lines insurance and improve outcomes for consumers.”
