Channel Syndicate 2015 names new active underwriter

Nick Forti has been appointed as active underwriter of Channel Syndicate 2015.

Effective March 19, the appointment will see the former Brit Syndicate 2988 active underwriter report to Channel chief executive Stuart McMurdo. Forti also brings reinsurance broking experience from Willis Re and Aon Benfield.

“We are entering the next chapter of Channel’s development and our key objective is to increase our London profile as a specialist insurer within the boundaries of profitable growth,” noted McMurdo. “Nick is a great hire for Channel and I am delighted to welcome someone of his calibre to the team.”

Meanwhile his predecessor Tom Corfield serves as chief underwriting officer of both Channel and SCOR’s specialty insurance London platform.

Commenting further on Forti’s arrival, the CEO said: “He brings significant expertise on the specialist product side and his appointment crucially enables Tom to focus on the execution of our recently announced London specialty insurance platform initiative.
