CET, the Castle Donington-based company known for its property assurance claims management app, has named group managing director Peter Eglinton as its new chief executive.

Eglinton wants further geographical expansion and strategic acquisitions for CET, and also plans to continue developing the firm’s services by subjecting the data they generate to deeper review. CET’s app SIMPLIFi as well as its materials testing reporting tool CETi will both be improved.

He will be tasked to drive growth as CET seeks to double its size over a period of four years. The firm grew 30% and posted revenues of more than £27m in its latest financial year, seeing continuous strong growth for the past half-decade.

“My personal strategy as CEO will be to maintain the caring, can-do attitude of our business and to ensure that we don’t lose that through the substantial growth I believe is possible. Our commitment to customers has always been our greatest asset and through continuing to develop our people, we will only build on this as the organisation grows,” said Eglinton on his new position.

He said CET has demonstrated the potential for sustained growth and will look to continue its strategy of acquiring complementary businesses to expand capabilities. “That, plus remaining agile and flexible to maintain excellent service levels for customers, will drive the business forward and it’s a hugely exciting challenge.”

CET chairman David Williams described Eglinton as a highly professional executive with considerable industry experience of delivering a high-quality outsourcing service to customers. “We are delighted that he is taking the business forward in what has been a smooth transition from the sound platform for growth that was built by former CEO Bob Blunden, with [UK private equity firm] Dunedin's support," he said.

Meanwhile, Blunden will stay with CET as strategy director focused on acquisitions and further technological developments.
