Century Underwriting has set its sights on diversification as its launches a new liability underwriting division with two senior appointments.
Tony Collman will lead the development and growth of the division with new opportunities within liability and construction markets. Collman joins from Gresham Underwriting where he was chi
ef underwriting officer.
“Maintaining Century’s focus on offering specialist products to regional brokers who require a more bespoke underwriting approach, we will be targeting liability and construction risks that can be written on a stand-alone basis without property coverage if required,” he said.
To support this new underwriting division and the current suite of products, Century has also appointed Steve Gibbons to the new role of head of business development. His focus will be on building Century’s profile in the market, developing existing and new broker relationships and supporting the underwriting teams in the profitable growth of their portfolios. He joins from XBroker where he was responsible for business development across the UK.
“This is an exciting time to join Century,” he said. “While known in the market for its motor capabilities, the expansion of the portfolio brings more opportunities for the regional broker market.”
