Intellectus Insurance Brokers Ltd and Consultus Insurance Brokers Ltd have established a strategic partnership effective January 1, 2025.
The partnership, which is not a merger or acquisition, seeks to blend the strengths of both companies without disrupting existing client arrangements. All policies, contacts, and services will remain unchanged, and clients can expect enhanced solutions as the collaboration progresses.
The combined firms bring over 50 years of industry experience to the table. Directors Pete Phillips and Phil Bass of Intellectus, and Consultus managing director Andy Burman, share a professional history dating back to their time at AXA Insurance.
"The way we work with our clients and the service we continue to provide, was born from those early days where the ‘personal service’ was extremely important," said Bass. “When at AXA, as we worked in neighbouring areas - the way we worked, gathered information to tailor our policy offerings and looked after our clients were among the many skills we have in common.”
Phillips expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential, citing the opportunity to expand their capabilities while continuing to deliver bespoke services valued by clients.
Burman described the alliance as beneficial for clients and business growth, with an emphasis on offering solutions without compromising on service quality.
"Together, we will be able to offer even more comprehensive and innovative solutions to our clients while maintaining the personal service and attention to detail that sets us apart," said Burman.
The partnership has been facilitated by Momentum Broker Solutions, whose business development director, Alistair Body, called the collaboration a logical move.
“I have known [Phillips] and [Bass] for several years, and I’ve worked closely with the three of them since joining Momentum. It was important for [Burman] to find someone to work with who shared his mindset on the importance of putting the client first. This is a real win, not only for Intellectus and Consultus, but also for Momentum. Long may our partnership continue,” said Body.
Under the agreement, Consultus will operate as a trading name of Intellectus, with Burman continuing to serve his existing clients. The expanded business footprint now covers Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, the West Midlands, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Northamptonshire, and surrounding areas.
