Tony Monnington (pictured), who was head of commercial business at
Swinton Insurance, has made the switch to the UK’s largest network for independent insurance brokers.
Appointed as
Broker Network’s commercial director, Monnington will be in charge of implementing group strategies by driving commercial partnership activity and optimising commercial opportunities. He will work for the network’s acquisition arm,
Broker Network Partners.
“I particularly wanted to work for a company with a vast amount of growth opportunities on the horizon, which Broker Network does,” said Monnington, who served as corporate business unit leader at Oval and as
Aon’s client management director. “The role will allow me to use my strategic approach to guide future deals across the UK broking landscape.”
For chief commercial officer Des O’Connor, the key hire will be a “real asset” to Broker Network. Monnington, who has a wealth of insurance broking experience, also held the position of managing director for
Gallagher’s Birmingham operations.
“His knowledge of the market will be invaluable as we further strengthen our partner strategy over the coming months and years,” said O’Connor.
