The Partners division of Broker Network, which came to life only in 2016, has been on a roll – announcing its latest acquisition following swoops for the likes of MCM Insurance and Boyd Insurance.

This time around, making the switch from being a long-standing Broker Network member to partner is Yorkshire brokerage Lockyers Ltd.

The award-winning independent insurance broker, which was established in Wakefield in 1981, will retain its management team and continue to operate from its current location. With a focus on commercial lines business - it controls in excess of £5 million in gross written premium.

“After becoming Broker Network Premier Members in 2004 and a long career in SME insurance broking, I see this move to join BN Partners as the next exciting step in our development,” commented Lockyers chief executive Jon Newall. “While our commitment to providing personal service will not change we will be looking for areas that we can progress to support our growing client base.”

Meanwhile Broker Network chief commercial officer Des O’Connor noted: “Jon has been a strong supporter of the network for a number of years, and I’m delighted to welcome him to the family. It’s fantastic that he had the confidence in us to support him on the next stage of his business’s lifecycle.”

The goal of Broker Network Partners is to build what it calls regional broking powerhouses via majority acquisition not only of members but also like-minded independent brokers.
