Broker Network’s partners appear to be on the acquisition trail. Earlier this week we told you about Finch Group making a move for Opus Risk Solutions, and now it’s the turn of Boyd & Company to make an acquisition of its own.
In a deal announced this morning, Boyd Insurance has swooped for independent insurance broker Insureness Ltd. The latter is a general insurance broker with offices in Musselburgh, close to Edinburgh, which manages around £3.7 million GWP. The firm, which was established in 2009, boasts nine staff and has strong ties across the local area and as far afield as the Lothians, the Borders and Fife.
“We have taken a thoughtful and considered approach to making our first purchase,” said Boyd managing director Eric Richardson. “We wanted to work with a brokerage that fits well with our culture and customer focus and we firmly believe that this will not only strengthen our footprint in Scotland but also enhance our service to customers.
“The management team at Insureness has significant experience with impressive reputations and established relationships across the broking industry. Each brings a wealth of individual expertise which will complement the existing team at Boyd. Working closely with Ken Davie, Ken Whittle and Colin Grant will ensure there is continuity for our customers. We can’t wait to get started.”
This acquisition marks Boyd’s first purchase since becoming a Broker Network Partner back in May 2017.
