Boris Johnson announced his intention to run for leadership of the Conservative Party during his BIBA keynote on the final day of the conference in Manchester.
Johnson was quizzed by BBC journalist Huw Edwards during the Q&A portion of the session, after avoiding the topic previously.
“Of course I’m going to go for it, but there is no vacancy at present,” Johnson said.
Johnson’s keynote focused on Brexit and his arguments as to why it is important to push forward with it.
