The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has announced the speakers for the
Innovate Evolve Thrive conference happening in Manchester on May 16 and 17.
Confirmed as keynote speakers on the first day of BIBA 2018 are Lloyd’s of London chief executive and Chartered Insurance Institute (
CII) president Inga Beale and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) CEO Andrew Bailey. Day two will feature lastminute.com co-founder Baroness Martha Lane Fox CBE and Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.
The seminars will cover subjects including rated and non-rated insurers; the challenges of mitigating risks from Brexit; customers from the perspective of the FCA, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), and the Financial Ombudsman Service; as well as risks such as cyber and fire.
“We have planned the conference sessions to embrace the crucial themes of innovation and evolution,” said BIBA chief executive Steve White. “We look forward to hearing the FCA’s plans and the impact that these will have on brokers, along with the rest of the great line-up of speakers.”
As for the exhibition aspect of the two-day event at Manchester Central, over 200 exhibitors are participating to showcase their offerings for the broking market. Meanwhile Young Broker Day will also be part of BIBA 2018.
