One of the most anticipated insurance industry events in the UK is not upon us just yet, but today we bring you the speaker line-up for BIBA 2019.
With the theme Leading the Way, this year’s conference and exhibition organised by the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) will feature a diverse mix of personalities including ex-MI5 director general Baroness Manningham-Buller LG DCB and former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson MP.
They will open and close the conference, respectively, with topics spanning leadership amid uncertainty to what lies ahead for a Britain outside the European Union.
Delegates also get to hear from Allianz UK chief executive Jon Dye, Zurich UK CEO Tulsi Naidu, Lloyd’s of London boss John Neal, and Aviva UK General Insurance managing director Rob Townend. BIBA deputy chair Julie Page, who is also chief executive of Aon UK, will facilitate a panel discussion on industry issues and opportunities.
The annual event will also shine a spotlight on mental health, with insights coming from retired cricket star Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff MBE, advocate and musician Professor Green, and acid attack survivor Katie Piper.
Taking place on May 15-16 and hosted by BBC broadcaster Huw Edwards, BIBA 2019 will feature a seminar programme and the BIBA Hackathon as well. Around 8,000 people, including members of the Insurance Business UK team who will be at stand B84, are expected to be in attendance at Manchester Central.
