BHSI continues to broaden capabilities in Europe

Four-decade industry veteran Tom Macfarlane has come onboard Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) in London to lead the company’s capabilities expansion into downstream energy property insurance.  

“This is a significant step in continued build-out of our overall property business,” noted UK property head Sean Mannion. “With Tom and his extensive expertise and knowledge at the helm, we look forward to building strong relationships with our customers and brokers in the energy sector.”

Macfarlane, whose insurance experience spans both underwriting and broking, was previously with AIG and Marsh & McLennan Companies. He has held roles such as energy broker and global head of energy.
