You’ll now find Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) in the city of love.
Announcing the opening of its Paris office at 88 & 92 Avenue Charles de Gaulle, 92200 Neuilly-sur-Seine, the Boston-headquartered specialty insurer does not look like it is leaving the expansion trail soon. Chris Colahan, president of BHSI in Europe and the UK, cited the move as part of a continuing strategy.
“We are pleased to continue our strategic expansion in Europe, with our new office in France and François-Xavier leading our efforts to bring BHSI’s underwriting and claims acumen, financial strength, and long-term focus to the French market,” he said.
Colahan was referring to François-Xavier d’Huart, who has been appointed as country manager. The latter’s credentials span 14 years of industry know-how from AXA, SATEC Rhône-Alpes, and XL Catlin.
“François-Xavier brings extensive experience to BHSI, and I am so pleased to have him at the helm as we build our product line and team in Paris,” commented the company’s Europe and UK president.
Now that BHSI has its insurance license in France, it will immediately underwrite property, casualty, and executive & professional lines in the country. Several other products are expected to be rolled out in the coming months.
