With his wealth of experience in building UK regional policy, the incoming hire will develop the specialist insurer’s own strategy and broker relationships in the UK regions. Based in Birmingham, where Beazley recently moved to larger premises, Franks will lead the firm’s expansion beyond London.
“Expanding our business in the UK outside London is a major element of our European growth strategy,” said Beazley head of broker relations Europe Will Roscoe. “The role played by our UK business development manager will be critical to our success. We are delighted that Sam, with his profound knowledge and experience of the UK regional broking market, has chosen to join us.”
In line with its UK regional ambitions, Beazley expects a rise in the number of underwriters being based in Birmingham. The insurer said its bigger office there will also serve as a hub for claims handling, multinational credit control, project management, and IT operations.
“I am very excited to be joining Beazley to support its expansion in the UK regional broker market,” commented Franks, who will come onboard on September 01. “I have spent my entire career in this market and passionately believe that forming a close partnership with brokers is key for mutual success.
“I can’t wait to start helping regional brokers win more clients with Beazley’s first class products and expertise.”
