Broking and advisory firm Beach & Associates has appointed Daniel Shaw as senior vice president of its wholesale property and casualty treaty division in London.
A former North American casualty treaty reinsurance broker at
Aon Benfield, Shaw has almost 20 years of insurance industry experience. He was also an account manager for the US property treaty team at E.W. Blanch.
The industry veteran began his broking career placing Caribbean and Latin American property treaty business at C.E. Heath.
“Daniel is an established expert who shares our philosophy. His experience and deep knowledge of this sector will significantly enhance our proposition and help cement our position in the market. I am very pleased to welcome him to the team,” saidd Jason Howard, CEO London and International.
He cited the need for brokers to innovate traditional business models and focus on delivering independent advice and transactional expertise amid a changing and challenging broking market. “They must compete on expertise, not on leverage,” said Howard.
Shaw will report to Howard in London. Beach employs over 150 people in seven offices.
