The life insurance director at the Bank of England’s financial services regulatory body has joined consultancy firm Deloitte.
Andrew Bulley has been appointed as partner in Deloitte’s centre for regulatory strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA),
Reuters reported.
"Now is a time of far-reaching change for the global insurance industry," the report quoted Bulley as saying.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for me to build on the centre's success to date and to work with colleagues in the UK, EMEA and internationally to make it a leading force in the area of insurance regulation,” he added.
Bulley comes from the central bank’s Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA), where he has served as director of life insurance supervision since May 2013.
Before the PRA was formed, Bulley worked at the then Financial Services Authority as head of major insurance groups, head of wholesale insurance and head of retail life and general insurance.
The PRA hired Bulley nearly two months after it appointed Sam Woods as the watchdog’s chief executive.
Woods, the current executive director of insurance for the PRA, will also be the Bank of England’s deputy governor for prudential regulation.
