Cantor-Grable has served as both an executive – in roles such as a CEO, chief risk officer, and chief compliance officer – and a board member in insurance and banking companies in the US and UK. She has held a variety of senior and regional roles in corporate and project finance, capital markets, and product development at Prudential plc, GE Capital, and BNY Mellon.
At present, Cantor-Grable is also a non-executive director at BNY Mellon SA/NV, Brown Shipley & Co. and Modulr FS. Prior to joining AXA XL, she was non-executive director at Société Générale International. Cantor-Grable is also a former chair of the board risk committee of CHAPS and was a lay member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) Regulatory and Practising Certificates boards.
“We are delighted to welcome Marcia to the AXA XL UK boards,” said AXA XL UK boards chair Claire Ighodaro, CBE. “Her knowledge of the global financial services industry and strong governance skills will be of tremendous benefit to the business. We look forward to working with Marcia as we continue to build on AXA XL’s established market position.”
“I’m delighted to have been asked to join the AXA XL UK boards,” said Cantor-Grable. “The strength of the AXA brand, together with AXA XL’s growth ambitions, represents a real opportunity. I look forward to working with the board and the management team to execute the strategy.”
The non-executive director appointment comes after AXA XL named Vanessa Leemans as UK & Lloyd’s head of cyber just last week. Leemans previously served as the EMEA/UK chief broking officer for Aon Cyber Solutions, and had spent nearly two decades with Aon.
